Big Leaf Maple Pot
I have become infatuated with Southwest Pueblo Pottery. This piece is heavily influenced by that infatuation. This pot is made from a piece of beautifully figured big leaf maple from the west hills of Portland, OR. The interior is burnished milk paint, which has the look and feel of glazed pottery. I chose blue for the interior of this pot so that it would catch the eye when glimpsed through a natural void in the side of the vessel. This piece is turned quite thin and feels somewhat like a gourd when held in the hands.
This piece measures approximately 9.5” diameter x 7.5” high.
